Before your tattoo
At Mikiel Tattoo Studio, we understand that getting a tattoo is a big decision and it’s important to get it right. That’s why we take the time to discuss the design, its placement and its meanings with each of our customers before beginning the tattooing process. Our experienced tattoo artists will help guide you through the entire process, from design to aftercare.

In the meantime, here are some tips to help you prepare for your tattoo!

Disclose any medical conditions prior to booking a tattoo appointment. You will be filling a consent form prior to starting the tattoo.

Avoid getting sunburnt or cut in the area of the tattoo days coming up to your tattoo appointment.

Make sure the come to the appointment well rested. Go to bed early the night before and give yourself plenty of time to fall asleep.

Make sure you eat well and drink plenty of water prior to the appointment.

Do not shave the area before as it could lead to razor burns and/or cuts. We will shave the area prior to starting.

Wear loose and comfortable attire and make sure that the area to be tattooed can be easily accessed without the need to completely undress whenever possible. An extra layer for the areas which are not getting tattooed is advised as one might get the chills during a tattoo.

No alcohol and no blood thinners (including warfarin, aspirin, paracetamols, etc.) the day before. This is a problem for the tattoo artists as this means you are more likely to start bleeding quickly when getting tattooed.

Hygiene is key for yourself and for the tattoo procedure. A shower is highly recommended prior to a tattoo session.

It is important to show up to your appointment on time. Plan ahead for traffic and parking.

Do not bring more than one adult to the appointment with you. Children are not allowed in tattoo studio.

Avoiding having plans immediately after the tattoo session. Sometimes the artists would need more that the stipulated time frame in order to provide you with the best tattoo.
